Riots in Chemnitz. The prosecutor's office requested the arrest of the accused

The Prosecutor's Office of Chemnitz (Federal State of Saxony in Germany) requested warrants for the arrest of a 23-year-old Syrian citizen and a 22-year-old Iraqi citizen after the death of a man in a city as a result of a brawl involving representatives of different nationalities.

The suspects are charged with the fact that they inflicted several stab wounds to the 35-year-old German, as a result of which he died.

Clarification of the motives and circumstances of the incident continues.

It is expected that before the end of the day the accused will be brought before a judge who is in charge of verifying the lawfulness of detention. On Sunday, August 26, they made an attempt to escape from the meta incident, but were soon detained.

In the conflict that occurred on Sunday, August 26, about 3 am after the city holiday, attended by up to 10 people. As a result, one 35-year-old man died from stab wounds, two more at the age of 33 and 38 years suffered. Police detained two people aged 22 and 23.

About 800 people, mostly supporters of right-wing groups, staged a rally on August 26 and a procession to protest the incident.

According to local media, during the rally from the crowd they threw bottles at the policemen, its participants staged a fight with law enforcers. The representative of the city police did not confirm or deny reports of attacks on migrants, while observing that "there was undoubtedly a contact" between the demonstrators and persons not involved in the event.
