Midfielder Steve Sidwell decided to end his professional career as a football player.
"Everything good inevitably comes to an end, and, unfortunately, today I close the chapter of my professional football career," Sidwell wrote in Instagram.
"I sincerely thank all my former clubs, managers, coaches, players, employees and fans for the experiences and memories that I will never forget".
Sidwell is a pupil of Arsenal, who sent him to rent in Brentford, Beveren and Brighton. After that, Steve defended the colors of Reading, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Fulham, Stoke City, and in 2016 he returned to Brighton, which became his last club.
According to Transfermarkt, he played 463 matches at club level, in which he scored 58 goals and gave 23 assists.
Sidwell confirmed that he will work at the Brighton Academy.
