Head coach of Manchester City Josep Guardiola is eager to retain in the team of winger Rahim Sterling.

Sterling has two years on contract with Man City, and so far he can not agree on a new contract with the club.

Guardiola was asked about the future of Rahim.

"He knows his agent knows. We need him. Chiki Begiristain spoke with him, "- said Guardiola.

"It's clear from my first day at the club - that we need Sterling. But contracts are contracts, agents are agents and players are players ".

"So I do not know what will happen, but I assure you 100% that I, the sports director and the players - we all want Rakhim to stay here".

Sterling moved to Man City in 2015. Last season, he scored 18 goals in the Premier League.

According to Mirror, Sterling agrees to stay in Man City, if he is offered a salary of 300 thousand pounds a week.
