On the Black Sea coast of Russia Rosavtodor plans to reconstruct the highway Dzhubga - Sochi (A147), turning it into a high-speed highway with two lanes in each direction. Road A147 currently does not cope with the flow of cars - tourists can spend the whole day on a segment of about 120 kilometers. "The idea is to create a Russian Cote d'Azur, to give the south a beautiful, large highway so that along the coast in a convertible with a breeze it would be possible to pass," one of the federal officials told Vedomosti. Now the road Dzhubga - Sochi - very dangerous: on the highway often there are accidents in which people die. In addition, due to the fact that the road is two-lane, there are regularly congestions on it - sometimes the traffic jams reach 20 km in length. It is planned that the new route will be built around the large settlements - Tuapse and Lazarevsky. Dozens of bridges and tunnels will be built for this purpose. Builders promise that the highway will not only be modern and necessary, but also very picturesque. Earlier Deputy Head of Rosavtodor Igor Astakhov stated that the reconstruction of the route from Dzhugba to Sochi will begin in 2019. However, an unnamed federal official told the publication that due to the fact that the project is very expensive, the final decision on it will be taken after consideration of other infrastructure projects.
