The prosecutor's office, with the assistance of employees of the Office of Supervision over the Observance of Laws in the Execution of Judgments in Criminal Proceedings and Other Compulsory Measures in Prisons of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Prosecutor's Office, involving specialists from the departments of Gostrud, Derzhprodpospazhivsluzhby and the State Service for Emergency Situations, work in the state institution "Intercession Correctional Center (No. 79)".

The audit found that all convicts serving a sentence in the correctional center, in violation of the requirements of the. 1 st. 60 of the Penal Enforcement Code of Ukraine for paid work without fixed-term employment contracts. In addition, 30 convicted women work in extremely difficult conditions at the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (counterpart facilities). Prisoners complained about non-observance of elementary conditions of safety precautions and industrial sanitation at the specified facility, as well as nonpayment of their wages, failure to provide timely medical assistance and the inability to visit the baths of the correctional center (in summer, convicts are forced to wash in a summer shower not properly equipped).

The facts are revealed that convicts who do not meet the production standards do not receive wages at all, and after deductions for communal welfare, food and other services have debts to the correctional center from 3 to 8000 hryvnia.

Specialists involved in the audit revealed violations in the field of fire and industrial safety, labor protection, safety during storage and consumption of food products. The verification of compliance with the law is continued in the calculation of wages for prisoners and the conduct of appropriate deductions.

At the initiative of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, information was included in the Single Register of Pre-Trial Investigations on the grounds of a criminal offense provided for. 1 st. 172 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (gross violation of labor legislation).

In addition, the issue of entering information into the ERDR on the grounds of the crime provided for in Article. 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (torture).
