Raids to identify and eliminate points of spontaneous trade will be held in the near future in Kharkov.

This decision was made at a meeting of the city commission on issues of technological and environmental safety and emergency situations, which was held by the first deputy of the Kharkov mayor Igor Terekhov, the press service of the City Council.

According to Mikhail Matviychuk, the head of the Kharkov city department of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Kharkiv region, the police said that last year active assistance in combating the points of spontaneous trafficking was provided by the police, but this year the work was braked.

"Unfortunately, all our written appeals concerning cooperation with the patrol police in this matter have come to naught. If only 57 points of spontaneous trade were eliminated in the first quarter of 2017 and 19 people were brought to administrative responsibility, this year only one joint raid took place in the first half of the year, "said Mikhail Matviychuk.

According to him, today, according to the law, the trade in milk and dairy products outside the markets is strictly prohibited, since the products do not pass sanitary control. In the places of official trade, the suppliers of dairy products must check the availability of a certificate confirming the safety of the origin of the products, in particular, that the animal does not suffer from infectious diseases: leukemia, tuberculosis, staphylococcus, streptococcus, etc.. , also check the availability of the seller's health records. The milk is also tested in the cistern - the presence of a seal on it indicates the level of safety and quality of the product, that it was not diluted with water, soda or starch.

During the meeting, the First Vice-Mayor noted that not only the police but also the employees of the KP "Municipal Protection" will be involved in identifying and eliminating the spontaneous trade points.

"We must make sure that there are no points of spontaneous trade in Kharkov at all. We have enough markets and trading platforms, so that people who produce agricultural products can come and civilize to trade. This is the health of citizens of Kharkiv, a catastrophic statistics. Today, sanitary and epidemiological services do not have an opportunity to check the quality of these products, issue certificates to their sellers and, accordingly, they do not bear any responsibility for them, and this is the life and health of people, "said Igor Terekhov.
