Nestor Pitana appointed chief arbiter of the finals of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Argentinean Nestor Pitan and his assistants Hernan Maidana and Juan Pablo Belatti will serve the Final of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia ™ between France and Croatia at the Moscow stadium Luzhniki.

Pitane 43 years old, he is a physical education teacher. He is also the second Argentine referee after Horacio Elisondo (2006 World Cup), who has the honor to serve the final match of the mundial.

Pitana - one of the most experienced arbitrators from South America. He played football at the youth level. As an arbitrator, he served three matches of the 2017 Junior World Cup (U-17), and then was assigned to the FIFA 2014 World Cup in Brazil ™, where he played four games, including the quarterfinals France - Germany. In 2015, he took part in his first and so far only Cup of America, and also worked out the match of the Argentine Super Cup River Plate - Huracan.

Pitana returned to Brazil in 2016, taking part in the football tournament of the Olympic Games in Rio, where he was entrusted to judge the semi-finals between Germany and Nigeria. In 2017, Pitan was the chief arbiter of another semifinal - the FIFA Confederations Cup between Germany and Mexico in Sochi.

Final of the 2018 World Cup between the teams of France and Croatia will be held on July 15. Beginning of the meeting at 18:00 Kyiv time.
