Egyptian archaeologists have found in Alexandria a huge sarcophagus of black granite. The burial refers to the Ptolemaic period in the history of Ancient Egypt, which lasted from 332 to 30 BCE, writes the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt.

The sarcophagus was found during excavations in the Sidi Haber area at a depth of five meters.

This is one of the largest sarcophagi found in Alexandria: the height is 185 centimeters, the length is 265 and the width is 165. Also experts have established that it has never been opened and it is not known who is inside. Together with the sarcophagus, they found a head of alabaster, which probably represented the man buried in the grave.
