South Korea is ready to resume the gas pipeline project from Russia through the territory of North Korea, but under certain conditions. The main one is the removal of international sanctions from Pyongyang. This was stated by the Chairman of the Board and General Director of the South Korean company Kogas Jeong Seung-Il. "Kogas consulted with Russian colleagues on this project for a long time. So we believe that if the conditions are met, we can easily resume consultations with our Russian colleagues on this project, "said Jeong Seung-Il RIA Novosti.. Negotiations between Kogas and Gazprom on laying a gas pipeline from the Russian Far East to the Korean peninsula have been ongoing since 2008. Principal agreement was reached in 2010. , but the policy of the DPRK, in particular the nuclear missile program, did not allow the transition to its implementation. Negotiations, which the North Korean leader has now begun with heads of other states, in particular China, South Korea and the United States, give reason to hope that the country will withdraw from political and economic isolation.

However, to talk about the time when this happens, it is too early. For example, Donald Trump, a couple of weeks after a personal meeting with Kim Jong-no, signed a decree to extend American sanctions against the DPRK for another year. International sanctions prohibit the export of oil and petroleum products to North Korea, the import of North Korean products, and also deprive North Korean citizens of the right to work abroad. American sanctions, plus this imposes a restriction on doing business with North Korean companies, the ban applies including to foreigners.
