Barcelona's forward Lionel Messi was recognized as the best player of the season 2017/18 in the Catalan club.

Lionel Messi for the sixth time in his career was awarded the Aldo Rovira, which is awarded to the best player in Barcelona for the season.

The jury determining the winner consists of local journalists.

Award for the best player of the season was founded in 2010 and named after Aldo Rovira, the son of the former director of Barcelona Josep Luis Rovira, who died in an accident on March 18, 2009 at the age of 37.

Previously, Messi was awarded this award for the 2009/10, 2011/12, 2012/13, 2014/15 and 2016/17 seasons. Also, once the award was presented to Eric Abidal (2010/11), Javier Mascherano (2013/14) and Luis Suarez (2015/16).

Last season, Messi spent 52 matches for Barcelona in all tournaments, which scored 44 goals and gave 14 assists.
