Miguel Cardoso became the new head coach of Nantes.

Nantes appointed Miguel Cardoso to the post of head coach, the official website of the "Canaries".

The agreement with the 46-year-old Portuguese is designed for two seasons.

From 2013 to 2016, Cardoso coached the Shakhtar youth team, and in the 2016/17 season was a member of the coaching staff of Paulo Fonseca.

After that, he headed Rio Ave, with which in the 2017/18 season took the fifth place in the championship of Portugal, which entitles to participate in the second qualifying round of the League of Europe.

In the past season Nantes under the leadership of Claudio Ranieri took ninth place in the standings of League One. The Italian left the French club because of a complicated relationship with the leadership.
