The State Service for Drugs and Drug Control has revoked the ban on the series No. 297 of the Bulgarian vaccine against tuberculosis "BCG Vaccine, Lyophilized" produced by BB-NCIPD Ltd.
This is stated on the website of the department, notes the Left Bank.
The decision was made on June 12 after an investigation that showed the absence of a link between the adverse event on the basis of which the ban was imposed and the use of the vaccine.
What kind of unfavorable event occurred, is not indicated at the disposal.
At the same time, it is reported that it is associated with a violation of the technique of administering the vaccine, and not the drug itself.
In this regard, Gosleksluzhba requires each supply of vaccines and other medicines purchased through international specialized organizations, instructions for medical use in the Ukrainian language, as well as to develop a memo for medical workers on the specifics of the use of vaccines.
Recall that in March the Gosleksluzhba already issued a temporary ban on this series of vaccines after the death of a child in the Sumy region. However, after the conclusion of the regional rapid response group, the ban was abolished.
The Bulgarian vaccine of the 297 series was delivered to Ukraine by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in September 2017. The term of its availability expires at the end of February 2020.
The BCG vaccine against tuberculosis is administered to children only with the consent of the parents in the first days after the birth of the child, revaccination - at 7 years - also only with the consent of the parents.
