Russian President Vladimir Putin accuses Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov of "terrorism". These accusations are not confirmed by anything - they are fabricated by Russian special services for a demonstrative trial. In them, almost no one believes.

How many Putin and other Russian and pro-Russian accusers of Sentzov do not repeat the thesis of terrorism, the international campaign for the defense of the director is only expanding. Nevertheless, the Kremlin could not fabricate more realistic charges against the Ukrainian prisoner and stubbornly clings to the ridiculous version of terrorism. And the question is not even why Putin is lying about Sentsovo. And why does he lie like that.

The first reason is that Putin has nothing to oppose to international law, except for accusations of terrorism. He knows perfectly well that Crimea is an area occupied by its troops, that it is annexed to Russia in defiance of international law and the obligations of Russia itself. Sentsov's obvious rightness and the Ukrainian's readiness to defend this rightness at the cost of life bring Putin to a rage.

This is the usual envy of a weak man - even if vested with power - to a strong spirit. When Putin talks about Sentsov, it is clear how he envies him.

The second reason is that Putin can think that this is exactly what you need to act when it comes to fighting the enemy. What you need to use terror. After all, the KGB, which brought up Putin, trained terrorists around the world. And now diversions and terror are one of the most important methods of work of Russian special services around the world.

Like any Chekist, Putin does not understand what peaceful, non-violent resistance is. He declares Sentsov a terrorist - simply because in his opinion Sentsov should be a terrorist. After all, how else to struggle with the occupation?.

It is this mixture of envy and confidence in the need for terror and allows Putin to confidently blame Sentsov for crimes that the director has never committed. And let it look ridiculous when the president of a terrorist state accuses an ordinary person, a cultural figure, of terror, but in reality it is certainly not funny. This is scary. Because it can end in the death of Oleg, and continue - with Russia's new wars against the civilized world, with terror, murders and sabotage.
