SBU blocked the cyber attack on the diplomatic mission of one of the NATO countries

Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine blocked the cyber attack on the diplomatic department of one of the NATO member countries, which hackers tried to implement due to unauthorized use of information resources of one of the state enterprises of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

As reported by the SBU press center, law enforcers documented the violation of rules for the protection of information and the operation of automated systems by officials of one of the state enterprises of the Ministry of Health. These violations led to intruders gaining illegal access to the information and telecommunications systems of the state institution, and hackers tried to use the hack for cyber attacks on foreign representation.

The SBU indicated that following the results of the inspection the leadership of the Ministry of Health decided to dismiss the general director of the said state enterprise. He was notified of the suspicion of committing a crime under art.. 363 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the rules for the operation of automated electronic computers (computers).

The pre-trial investigation continues.

The SBU press-center does not specify either the NATO member-country or the name of the state enterprise of the Ministry of Health.
