The Spanish National Court has sought the rapper Josep Mikel Arenas (the creative pseudonym Valtonyc), sentenced to three and a half years in prison for glorifying terrorism, threats to well-known politicians and the royal family in his songs.
The national court found that the rapper supports the terrorist organizations ETA (Basque terrorist organization) and GRAPO ("Groups of patriotic antifascist resistance on October 1") in their "creativity", insults the former head of state King Juan Carlos and members of his family, threatens well-known politicians. The singer himself claims that it is a question of freedom of expression and accuses the court of persecution of freedom of speech.
On Thursday, the ten-day period expired, during which the rapper was obliged to go to prison voluntarily, but on the eve of the Spanish media reported that Valtonyc left the territory of Spain and allegedly went to Belgium.
The Spanish National Court granted the petition of the prosecutor's office and declared Valtonyc wanted - national, international and European.
The rapper claims that he has the right to freedom of speech in his work and, despite the verdict, continued to use extremely harsh statements.
