Named the cleanest city in the EU

The cleanest city in the European Union according to local residents was the Latvian Ventspils: 99% of its inhabitants consider their city "very clean" or "fairly clean".

These are the results of a survey conducted among residents of 105 EU cities, the statistical office of Eurostat.

In second place was also the Latvian city - Valmiera, which is considered clean 97% of the population. The third place was shared by the Spanish Oviedo and the capital Luxembourg - they received 95% of the votes of the residents.

Among the capitals in addition to Luxembourg, the leading cities are Vienna (90%) and Ljubljana (88%).

And the least satisfied with the cleanliness of the inhabitants was in Rome (only 9% of the Romans consider the city to be clean). Next come Bratislava (28% satisfied with cleanliness) and Sofia (29%).
