The court refused to send the ex-deputy head of the department of the Kiev police suspected of serious crimes against the participants of the Revolution of Dignity to the SIZO. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
In the autumn of 2016, the ex-law enforcement officer was put on the wanted list on suspicion of dispersing Maydanovs in the capital in December 2013. According to the investigation, the suspect on the criminal order exceeded the authority, commanding the fighters "Berkut" (h. 4 items. 41, hours. 2 items. 365 of the Criminal Code), and applied violence to protesters (h. 4 items. 41, art.. 340 CC).
May 5, 2018 already detained ex-policeman changed the suspicion, further incriminating a group crime conspiracy (h. 2 items. 28, hours. 4 items. 41, hours. 3 items. 365 CC), serious bodily harm (h. 2 items. 28, hours. 4 items. 41, hours. 2 items. 121 of the Criminal Code) and the murder of several persons in a dangerous way (h. 2 items. 28, hours. 4 items. 41, pp. 1, 5 hours. 2 items. 115 CC) in the center of Kiev on February 18, 2014. More than 150 people were the victims of the suspect's actions, the GPU.
At the same time, Pechersk District Court of Kiev refused to place the detainee in custody, sending him to a night house arrest. The prosecution has already appealed this decision.
