World WBO featherweight champion Vasily Lomachenko will receive an award for the best boxer of the year - Fighter of the Year, according to Boxing Scene.

Also the trophy of the best coach Eddie Futch Award will be the father of Basil - Anatoly Lomachenko.

The Ukrainian boxer will receive the award for his successful performances in three matches of last year - against Jason Sosa, Miguel Marriaga, as well as Guillermo Rigondeaux.

It should be noted that this award is given for 93 years. Among its owners are Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Terence Crawford.

The award ceremony will take place at the annual dinner at the Copacabana Club in Manhattan, New York (USA), today, May 11.

Recall, on May 12 in New York Lomachenko will enter the ring against the Venezuelan Jorge Linares. At stake will be the WBA belt, which is owned by Linares.
