In the evening on Sunday, April 29, in several regions of Syria, a number of military bases of the government army and the Iranian militia were rocketed. According to the Syrian Human Rights Watch, based in London, the missiles were fired at the headquarters of the 47th brigade, based west of the city of Hama, as well as military bases near the Aleppo airport. According to dpa, the sound of the explosions was also heard near the Nahar al-Bard base, located 60 kilometers northeast of Hvma. There are also Iranian military units. As a result of the explosions, dozens of people were killed and wounded.
Syrian state media reported that missile attacks could be carried out by the Israelis. Representatives of the armed forces of Israel have not yet commented on the events. Earlier in the day, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said that the country's government reserves the right to further military action in Syria. "We do not intend to attack the Russian parts and interfere in the internal affairs of Syria," Lieberman said, while not excluding attacks on Iranian militants. According to Lieberman, Israel's main problem is "Iran, Iran and Iran again".
Iran along with Russia remains the closest ally of the Syrian government Bashar Assad. On April 9, official Moscow and Damascus blamed Israel for attacking the T4 military base near Homs. As a result of the shelling, at least 14 people were killed. The attack on T4 occurred less than 48 hours after the alleged attack by the Syrian army using chemical weapons on the city of Dumu in East Gut.
