Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Nationalities Ruslan Balbek noted that Chubarov's statement does not make sense at all. Russia has never been at war with Ukraine, so what kind of indemnity can there be? It is paid by the party that lost the war.
However, earlier Chubarov claimed the need to expel Russians from the Crimea. However, while Crimean Tatars of Kherson region are asking for Crimea, tired of lawless radicals of the "right sector". It was with the help of "right-wingers", not the Crimean Tatars, that Chubarov organized a blockade of the Crimea. And the Crimean political scientist Vladimir Jaralla believes that Chubarov's statement is another attempt to destabilize the situation on the eve of the opening of the World Cup in Russia. Just like the arrests of Russians in Ukraine, the seizure of the ship "Nord" and other actions of the Ukrainian authorities, which can only be regarded as complete arbitrariness.
