Scientists from the Loma Linda University School of Public Health and the International Agency for Research conducted a study that showed that nuts help combat obesity and obesity.

The authors of the work decided to analyze the data on diets, as well as to study the lifestyle of 373 000 respondents from ten European countries. The age of the participants ranged from twenty-five to seventy years.

Chief scientist Joan Sabate, MD and director of the medical center, said that most people believe that nuts are a high-calorie food, so they can not be consumed during a diet and in the process of losing weight. But a new study shows the opposite.

A unique experiment lasted for five years. This helped to establish that those volunteers who consumed more nuts in their food, not that they added less weight, but also suffered less from extra pounds, and especially from obesity.

In the past, scientists have already conducted similar studies that have shown that nuts have a positive impact on people's health, especially on memory functions in old age. But this work was the first, which proved that nuts do not harm the diet and bring only benefit to slimming. Scientists conclude that obese people can safely eat almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts and peanuts.
