The governor of the Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvashev met with the winners of the XII Paralympic Winter Games in Pchechkhan Michalina Lysova, Anna Milenina, coach Valery Ogorodnikov and leading athlete Alexei Ivanov. This was reported in the DIP.

"Thank you for the wonderful performance at the Paralympic Games. You brought the Russian team almost half of the total number of medals. And this is another confirmation that our region is the most sporting. I understand very well what efforts the preparation for games requires from the Paralympic team and the coaching team. I consider it very important to give every support to Paralympic athletes, to create the most favorable conditions for training and life, to cultivate respect for people who are able to fight and defeat rivals, to overcome illness, injustice, stereotypes of public consciousness, "said Evgeny Kuyvashev.

Anna Milenina during a conversation told the governor that "only now I realized that for athletes the Russian anthem and flag mean":.

"Only at the entrance to our airport we were able to sing a hymn. We are happy to speak for our country and region. Thank you for the support of the sport, for the conditions that allow you to train without leaving the region ".

Now the athletes are going to have a rest, and then they will start preparing for the World Championship. The head of the region handed over the participants of the Paralympic Games money certificates. "Your victory will serve as a good incentive for other young athletes, so we will continue to help you train and give the opportunity to grow new and new athletes," said Evgeny Kuyvashev.

Recall that the Sverdlovsk region at the Paralympic Games was represented by two athletes - Honored Master of Sports in cross-country skiing and biathlon Anna Milenina (the girl has a defeat of the musculoskeletal system) and Honored Master of Sports of Russia in cross-country skiing and biathlon Michalina Lysova (performs in the category "Sports of the Blind" ). Of the 24 medals won by the Russian national team at the Games in South Korea, 11 are among the athletes of the Sverdlovsk region. In total, they have 4 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze medals.
