Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Navy Roman Gladky was dismissed because of his Russian citizenship of his wife.

Smooth was suspended for the duration of the official investigation, the subject of which is both the citizenship of the military wife and the "financial and economic violations" committed by him.

As noted, Helen's wife Elena together with her children lived in Crimea for two years after his annexation, and her daughter, the first-rank captain, performed at swimming competitions for the Central Sports Club of the Russian Army.

The command of the Navy specified that Chief of Staff Roman Gladky was not dismissed, but "enlisted in the order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine to determine the future official position".

The commanders confirmed that the reason for the sanctions against the officer were the revealed shortcomings in his official activity.
