The European Aviation Safety Agency Eurocontrol distributed on Wednesday, April 11 a warning about the possibility of air strikes against Syria within the next 72 hours, and asked air carriers to take this into account when planning their routes.

Eurocontrol warned that airlines should take into account that the fighting in Syria can lead to communication failures and navigation equipment. "This information should be taken into account when planning flights in the Eastern Mediterranean and in the region of Nicosia," the agency quoted by Vesti.

Several airlines have already made changes to their flight plans. In particular, the routes of several flights of the Israeli airline "El Al", which have arrived from the Far East, have now been changed-they now go around Cyprus, and do not fly over it.

Air France's press service officially announced changes in flight plans on some flights, in particular, the routes of planes flying to Israel and Lebanon. The changes were also notified by several budget airlines, including EasyJet, flying to Ben Gurion.

Chinese airline Hainan Airlines has suspended flights to Israel in view of the possibility of an American strike against Syria. Two flights - from Beijing and from Shanghai - were canceled. The passengers were told that this was due to the worsening situation in the Middle East region.

For security reasons, Kuwait Airways temporarily suspended flights to Beirut.

The Israeli Airports Authority reported that despite the proximity of the Syrian border, special orders for civil aviation have not yet been received.
