On Wednesday night, April 11, it became known that British Prime Minister Teresa May, in a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, said that London would need more evidence of involvement of the Bashar Assad regime in a chemical attack in the Duma in order to decide on the participation of British military in a large-scale operation in Syria, wrote newsru. co. il referring to the newspaper Times.

It seems that London will wait for the report of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), which will send a special mission to the Syrian city of the Duma to investigate reports of the use of chemical weapons by government forces. A group of OPCW inspectors will go to the Duma in the near future, but exact dates are unknown.

The victims of the chemical attack of the Duma on April 7 were, according to various sources, from 40 to 200 people. The Assad regime stated that the poisonous substances were not used. The Russian authorities insist that there is no evidence of the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian regular army, and they urge the US and its allies to refrain from military action against Assad.
