Assistant to the President of Russia Vladislav Surkov said that Russia is waiting for the century of geopolitical loneliness. He described in his article "The Loneliness of the Half-Blood" in the journal "Russia in Global Politics".

According to Surkov, Russia has gone to the East for four centuries and to the West for four more centuries, but Russia is not the West and not the East, but the half-blooded country.

"Russia is a west-eastern half-blooded country. With its two-headed statehood, hybrid mentality, intercontinental territory, bipolar history, it is, as it should be half-baked, charismatic, talented, beautiful and lonely, "Surkov writes.

He predicts Russia at least 100 years of geopolitical loneliness. At the same time, Surkov does not undertake to assess "what will be the loneliness that lies ahead".

"What will be the loneliness that lies ahead?" The vegetation of the mare in the outskirts? Or the happy loneliness of the leader who has gone to the alpha of the nation, in front of which "other nations and states" are pestered and give her way? " It depends on us, "- wrote Surkov.

He notes that "loneliness does not mean total isolation," although "unlimited openness is also impossible".
