Probably Rob Carver of Nokomisa (Florida) was glad that he did not have a party in his pool on the evening of March 30. All because a three-meter-tall alligator crawled into his yard.

On the night of March 31, Mr. Carver woke up because of the loud noise coming from the porch.

"I turned on the light and looked out the bedroom window. Then I saw something near the verandah and thought it was a trot, but, peering, I said: "My God, this is a big alligator! ", The eyewitness told reporters FOX 13 News.

Mr. Carver's wife, Patricia, said that her husband immediately told her to call 911. Arriving at the scene, the police called the animal catchers, who pulled a huge alligator from the pool.

According to Carver, the alligator was in his pool because of the low water level in the local ponds.

FOX 13 News reporters found out in the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission that, often after catching the alligators, a savage fate awaits: they are killed for meat and skins. Occasionally animals are left alive and sold to farmers or zoos.
