In Ukraine, launch a new system of state quality control products

Since April 4, Ukraine will launch a new system for quality control and food safety. This was announced at a briefing by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro Atlantic Integration Ivan Klimpush-Tsintsadze.

According to the press service of the Deputy Prime Minister, the matter concerns the entry into force of the law "On State Control over Compliance with the Legislation on Foodstuffs, Feeds, By-Products of Animal Origin, Health and Animal Welfare".

According to the vice-premier, the new document will create conditions for ensuring the quality and safety of food products for consumers and establishes clear and transparent procedures for inspections. This will minimize corruption risks and contribute to the development of fair competition, according to Klimpush-Tsintsadze.

The report says that enterprises will check, depending on the degree of risk to life and health of people. For example, in a store selling packaged long-term storage products, there are fewer risks than in a store where fresh meat is sold. Also, under the new law, the Inspectors of the State Bailiff Service will carry out inspections, according to the verification act. This document should contain exhaustive information on the number of questions to be checked and should be public.

For violation of the new rules, penalties for up to 70 thousand. UAH - depending on the offense.

If factors that threaten human life and health are found, the inspector will be able to temporarily suspend the production or circulation of food or feed.
