Ukrainian Olympic champion Alexander Abramenko became Ukraine's best sportsman in February.

Such an award Alexander received from the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine (NOC).

Note, for the athlete this is the second award from the committee in his career. Before that, he was recognized as the best sportsman of Ukraine exactly one year ago - in February 2016.

Recall that Alexander won the only gold award for Ukraine at the 2018 Olympics.

This is the third "gold" in the history of independent Ukraine at the Winter Olympics. In 1994 in Lillehammer Olympic figure skater became figure skater Oksana Baiul, in 2014 in Sochi Vita Semerenko, Valya Semerenko, Julia Jima, Elena Pidgrushnaya won the gold medal in the women's relay race.
