Specialists from the University of Southampton, along with colleagues from the University of Edinburgh report that coffee reduces the risk of developing liver cancer.

The authors of the work analyzed twenty-six studies, in total in which more than 2.25 million respondents participated.

In terms of quantitative assessment, the risk reduction indicator based on statistics was twenty percent. Those who drank 2 cups of coffee every day, reduced the chance of liver cancer by thirty-five percent, and those who drank five cups-fifty percent.

Researchers report that this discovery may become important for the development of medicine in the direction of treating chronic liver diseases. In other words, if decaffeinated coffee is an acceptable drug, then it should help scientists to prevent liver oncology.

Oliver Kennedy of the University of Southampton said that coffee has several advantages that positively affect human health. Professor Peter Hayes adds that coffee reduces the risk of liver cirrhosis and liver cancer, but it all depends on the dose.
