I must admit - a week ago, I was wrong when I said that for the American media, it seems, it has not yet reached that the owner of the notorious St. Petersburg "troll factory" Yevgeny Prigozhin, the main person on the list of 13 Russian citizens who were presented with the filing of US Attorney General Robert Muller accusations of interference in the US elections in 2016, is perhaps the main actor in another high-profile scandalous case - the destruction of several dozen or even hundreds of Russian mercenaries in Syria, writes the "Ekho Moskvy" Russian journal Yevgeny Kiselyov Alista.

It turns out that it even happened. Apparently, not without the help of the American special services. In any case, the authors of the most detailed publication in The Washington Post on February 22 constantly refer to sources in the US intelligence services when they tell a fascinating story about how Americans listened, intercepted and recorded Prigogine's talks with high-ranking Syrian officials on the eve of an attempt to seize an oil field in eastern Syria near Deir ez Zorah.

The exact dates are indicated in the article. On January 24, Putin's restaurateur informs some Syrian minister Mansur Azam, whose office seems to correspond to the post of head of the presidential administration Bashar Assad, that he, Prigogine, received the consent of a Russian minister - guess who? - a "quick and decisive offensive".

January 31 Prigozhin informs the same Azam that he will present a "pleasant surprise" to President Assad in the period from 6 to 9 February. Let me remind you that the column, which was trying to seize the oil field near Deir ez Zor, was defeated by Americans on the night of February 7 to February 8.

What is most piquant - who did not understand yet - after the Americans contacted the official representatives of the Russian military in Syria and received assurances that they were not there, they opened fire from all guns along that very column.

Even more piquant detail in the article The Washington Post - the US intelligence services recorded more frequent on the eve of the incident and immediately after his talks between Prigogine and the head of Putin's administration Anton Vaino and his deputy, Ostroenko, thereby also covering up the involvement in the Syrian adventure of one of the most senior people in The Kremlin.

It is unclear, however, they managed to fix only the fact of frequent calls Prigogine, as stated in the article, or also recorded. Worry, Mr. Vaino, - details in the following publications.

Surprisingly, of course, as Russian ministers, officials and Putin's favorites discuss everything by phone in open mode and do not even suspect that they can be written. And they, apparently, write all.

The whole story, you know, reminds me of the history of 1983 with the Korean "Boeing", which was the forerunner of the collapse of the Soviet Union. Then the Soviet high-ranking politicians and the military caved in completely: first they denied everything, then they admitted that the plane was still there, and from the third visit they repented - they were still shot down. Here and here: first recognized that only five, then admitted that the account of the killed goes to tens, but we here, in general, with nothing, it was their personal choice.
