The International Ski Federation (FIS) has been severely criticized for not conducting explanatory work on asthma medications. With such claims made sporting director of the national team of Norway on cross-country skiing Vidar Lefsus, reports NRK on Monday, February 26. "I think that FIS does not do its job. They should explain to everyone that this is not doping. They have relevant experts. I am also sure that German journalists did not even read articles on these preparations, "the Norwegian functionary. To the question of the publication, who in the FIS should engage in educational activities, Lefsus said: "They have a medical committee that should raise such issues, discuss the topic of doping". He also noted that he had not yet contacted the FIS on this topic, but "terribly angry and dissatisfied with the work of President Gianfranco Casper and Secretary-General Sarah Lewis". So nervously, Lefsus reacted to the investigation of the German journalist Hayo Zeppelta already with regard to athletes from Norway. He published a video on February 23 stating that the phenomenal successes of Norwegian skiers are also the result of using asthma medications. According to the German, these drugs contribute to the acceleration of muscle growth. Previously sports journalists and experts expressed bewilderment by the fact that the Norwegians took with them to Pyeongchang 6 thousand. 240 doses of asthma medications approved for use only on therapeutic exclusions, 5,760 of them were contained in inhalers: simbicort (15 inhalers), atrovent (6), alvesco (10), ventolin (6), ejromir (6). And 480 doses were taken for nebulizers: atrovent (360), pulmicort (120). The doctor of the Scandinavian team Mona Kjeldsberg explained that most of these medicines will not be used. At the Olympics in South Korea, the Norwegian team won 39 medals (14 gold, 14 silver, 11 bronze), 14 of which brought skiers - seven gold, four silver and three bronze. At the same time, one of the leaders of the Norwegian national team skier Martin Sundbu regularly regularly exceeds the permitted dose of medications for asthma.

And in Pyeongchang he won silver in the skiathlon and two golds - in the team sprint and in the relay race. Another Norwegian triumphant Marit Bjorgen, the authorization for the use of asthma medications that contain illicit substances (in particular salbutamol), was received from the FIS in the distant 2009. At the past Games, she won 5 medals - 2 gold (in the relay and marathon), 1 silver (skiathlon) and 2 bronze (team sprint and 10 km). Now she is the eight-time Olympic champion and winner of the greatest number of awards among all participants of the Winter Olympic Games in their entire history, as many as 15 medals. It remains to observe how the German will "bury" the Norwegian sport.
