Belarus should hold consultations with Russia on this issue. This is stated in a report published by the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor.

According to the report, it is prohibited to import from Belarus pasteurized, sterilized and ultra-pasteurized milk and cream in bulk, dry, concentrated, canned and condensed milk and cream, dairy liquid, concentrated and dry whey, as well as whey concentrate and milk protein.

The Russian supervisory authority stated that they had made such a decision "in connection with the repeated repeated detection of violations of veterinary and sanitary requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Russian Federation".

The department was also reminded that in 2017 Belarus supplied 296,200 tons of milk and cream to Russia. A total of 596 violations were detected by Belarusian enterprises of veterinary and sanitary standards and requirements, of which 376 were for milk and dairy products.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, from August 1, Rosselkhoznadzor introduced a ban on the import of food from Ukraine and feed additives for animals. According to the agency, such measures are related to GMOs. The Russian oversight agency reports that they repeatedly detected genetically modified components in batches of unregistered feed produced by Ukrainian enterprises.
