It is noted that the Council decided to extend restrictive measures against Belarus for another year - until February 28, 2019.

Relevant measures include arms embargoes and asset freezes, as well as a travel ban on the four listed individuals in connection with the undisclosed disappearances of two opposition politicians, one businessman and one journalist.

By the way, the Council of the EU also extended the permit for Belarus to purchase biathlon equipment in European countries.

As previously reported in URA-Inform, the leaders of the European Union intend to approve the extension of the economic sanctions of the bloc against Russia for another six months. These sanctions were previously imposed because of the Russian annexation of the Crimea and Russia's support for terrorists in eastern Ukraine.
