Chelsea are interested in the central defender of Newcastle Jamaal Lassels, according to the London Evening Standard.

In summer, the "blue" intend to rejuvenate the center of defense, as Gary Cahill and David Luis have overcome the mark in 30 years. Scouts of Chelsea have long been following Lassels and in summer they will be ready to make an attempt to sign the Englishman.

Lassels only recently extended the contract with the "magpies" until 2023, but earns according to him no more than 50 thousand pounds a week.

In the current season, Lassels held 24 matches for Newcastle in all tournaments, which scored three goals and received three yellow cards.
