According to him, "ZHСС" and "Ukrzaliznytsya" declared their interest in opening the crossing point of the Matovce-Pavlovo border for the purpose of railway passenger transportation.

It is noted that the purpose of this project is to provide a railway communication from Kosice to Uzhgorod and the subsequent wider communication Kyiv-Uzhgorod-Matyovtse-Kosice-Bratislava-Prague.

However, the only obstacle to connecting the two cities is the different width of the railways in the countries.

According to the representative of the Slovak company, two options are considered for resolving this issue. The first option is the arrival of a train from Uzhhorod to Matovce on a wide track, and from there to Kosice - on the European. To do this, in Matyovets, you need to build a special infrastructure for adapting cars to the European track.

Another option is to build 11 kilometers of European gauge in Uzhhorod. To open the railway communication project Uzhgorod-Kosice will be involved railway companies in Slovakia.

As it was informed earlier in "URA-Inform", Italian state company Italferr will take part in the introduction of high-speed railway communication in Ukraine.
