Defender Elyakim Mangala can skip the rest of the season if his knee injury proves to be a rupture of cruciate ligaments.

Career of Eliakim Mangal in Everton can end, so plainly and started, reports The Daily Mail.

The Frenchman moved to Goodison Park on the last day of the transfer window. Sam Allardyce was delighted to get the centurbek left-handed, and Eliakim himself intended to impress the club's management to be redeemed from Man City.

However, last weekend Mangala was injured in a match against Crystal Palace and these plans were in jeopardy. Elyakim landed terribly before the break and was replaced.

While it is unclear, he injured the medial or cruciate ligament. In the case of the latter, Elyakim will miss six months - which means that in the current campaign he will no longer play.

The medical department of Everton will continue to assess the health of the Frenchman, after which he will make his recommendations on further actions.
