The team of the Netherlands rushed to the first place overall medal offset of the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang after the enchanting performance of skater girls in the distance of 3000 meters.

Hollanders occupied the whole pedestal. Carlaine Ahterekte became champion with result 3. 59.21 minutes. Irene Wust lost to her only 0.08 seconds and took "silver". Bronze medal went to Antoinette de Jong. While the three-time Olympic champion Martina Sablikova took fourth place, and the five-time Olympic champion, the 45-year-old German Claudia Pechstein remained the ninth.

Note that Ukrainians are not represented in this discipline.
