To make such a decision it is necessary that more than 20% of students fall ill. About this on Thursday, February 1, said the first deputy chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration Nikolai Povoroznik.

According to him, the deterioration of the epidemic situation among schoolchildren is observed in the capital due to the increase in the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory infections. Now in the city the incidence is at the level characteristic for this period of the year.

At the same time, for the fourth week of the current month, the morbidity rate increased by 11.4%, compared to the previous week, - the official explained, adding that the increase was due to children, and although now preschool children are mostly sick, among schoolchildren the incidence rate increased by 25%.

The largest number of absent schoolchildren is observed in Darnytskyi, Obolonskiy, Svyatoshinsky and Solomensky districts, - said Povoroznik. At the same time, he recalled the holding of elementary sanitary and epidemiological measures.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, schools in Zhitomir announced a quarantine. Local authorities have made such a decision because of the outbreak of diseases of the flu and ARVI. As the press service of the Zhytomyr City Council informs, quarantine in schools and vocational schools of the city will last until February 12. In turn, Deputy Mayor Matvey Khrenov explained that the authorities have taken into account the increase in the incidence that began this week.
