The post of the head of the federation of football of Italy at the moment is vacant. Carlo Tavechchio resigned from this position after the "scuadra adzurra" failed to enter the 2018 World Cup.
To occupy his chair were Damiano Tommasi (president of the Association of Italian Footballers), Gabriela Gravina (president of the third division) and vice-president of the Cosimo Sibylla Federation.
The process of election of the head of the FFI passes in several stages. In the second and third Damiano Tommasi took the last place, so he could not count on the victory.
In the last, fourth round of voting, Sibylia called on delegates to "spoil their ballots" and as a result no one was selected. Cosimo himself collected only 1.85% of votes, 39.06% - Gravina, and the remaining 59.09 remained empty.
Since none of the candidates managed to win a majority, the Federation will be managed from this moment on by the commissioner until a new election is scheduled.
