282 deputies supported the government led by Prime Minister Viorica Dencile. According to Romania. tv, 136 deputies voted against the program of the Dencile government.

Thus, for the first time in the history of Romania, a woman led the government.

Recall, 54-year-old Dencile is a member of the European Parliament, holds the post of deputy chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development.

As reported URA-Inform, January 18, President of Romania Klaus Johannis nominated a member of the European Parliament Viorica Dencile for the post of head of government. Dencile was proposed as candidate for the position of the ruling Social Democratic Party of Romania. Introducing it, Klaus Johannis noted that this proposal was dictated by "parliamentary arithmetic," since the Social Democrats have a majority in the Romanian parliament.
