On this on Monday, January 29, said the press secretary of the head of state Krzysztof Lapinski. According to him, the president believes that in this situation there is no need to be guided by emotions.

The Polish side must consistently fight for the truth, because for too many years we have heard too many lies about the so-called Polish death camps. We can not allow such things to happen, and then this law is needed, Duda explained, adding that the law does not concern scientific research or, God forbid, falsifying the truth about the Holocaust.

Recall, the Seimas of Poland passed the third reading of the package of bills that provide for changes in the law on the Institute of National Memory. Among them was a bill banning "Bandera ideology" in Poland. "For" the majority of deputies voted - 279 out of 414.

According to the bill, for the use of the expression "Polish death camps" will face a fine or imprisonment for three years. The law concerns crimes of Nazism and communism, the amendments also provide for criminal liability for the denial of the Volyn massacre and propaganda for the "Bandera ideology".

As reported URA-Inform, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed concern about the adoption by the Seim of the Republic of Poland of the bill "On Amending the Law on the Institute of National Memory - Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish People and Some Other Laws".
