Former president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych wants to return to the country. This was stated by his lawyer Vitaly Serdyuk, reports Ukrinform.
According to the lawyer, finding Yanukovych in Russia is a "forced measure", as in Ukraine he is being persecuted for political reasons. Serdyuk specified that Moscow granted his client temporary shelter in the territory of Russia.
Defender in the Obolonsky court in Kiev, where he heard the case of the former president's state treasury, also complained that the Ukrainian side, despite the requests of the lawyer, does not want to conduct interrogations of Yanukovych: "No investigator in one case wants to interrogate him".
