The German Federal Police stopped six waggons with American self-propelled howitzers and did not allow them to go further. The incident occurred in eastern Germany, in the federal state of Saxony. The Polish transport and forwarding company was supposed to deliver American installations of type M109 to Germany, a source from Bild. When the police checked the column, it turned out that the drivers do not have the necessary transport documents, or a special permit for cargo transportation through the territory of Germany. In addition, each trailer was overloaded by about 16 tons. Another violation was the lack of convoy escort vehicles. Law enforcers also found out that the drivers spent too much time on the road, thus violating the regime of work and rest. The police sent wagons to the parking lot where they will stay until all the conditions necessary for transporting such goods through the territory of the republic. The German fines department is already dealing with sanctions against violators.
