It is noteworthy that the budget for ensuring strategic communication this year in the State Chancellery increased from the previous 60 thousand euros to 800 thousand euros per year.

Managing the process in the government's communication bureau, Martin Yashko, considers the provision of strategic communication the issue of Estonian security.

He also added that strategic communication is largely based on the response. If there is any message inflicting damage to Estonia, at best they manage to identify it in time, especially when it comes to the international space.

As previously reported in URA-Inform, this was the main announcement of New Year's congratulations to Emmanuel Macron. The President of the Republic wants 2018 to be held under the banner of fighting against "fake news", perceived as a threat to democracies.
