According to him, the personal opinion of Bulgarian President Rumen Radev on lifting economic sanctions with the Russian Federation does not matter.
The government will adhere to five principles regarding relations with Russia, which were approved by the Council in March 2016. An important condition for changing the EU's relations with Russia is the full implementation of the Minsk agreements by all parties to the conflict.
He recalled that the EU "insists that Russia respects international law".
The diplomat also noted that in Brussels they count on the Norman format, the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
As previously reported in URA-Inform, the leaders of the European Union intend to approve the extension of the economic sanctions of the bloc against Russia for another six months. These sanctions were previously imposed because of the Russian annexation of the Crimea and Russia's support for terrorists in eastern Ukraine.
