Russia needed to legalize aggression in the Crimea. He also assured that Yanukovych was not going to comply with the agreement with the opposition on February 21, 2014.

As of February 22, 2014, many then-ministers, deputy ministers and 77 of the 186 deputies of the Party of Regions faction had already left Ukraine. Thus, they demonstrated that the blame for what is happening lies with Yanukovych, "the politician said adding that the flight of his supporters caused such a reaction and flight from the country.

At the same time, Yanukovych's lawyer Vitaly Serdyuk repeatedly interrupted Senchenko, stating that his judgments are subjective and false, which violates the oath of a witness.

In turn, prosecutors protested against such actions of the defender, and even demanded the court to bring him to disciplinary responsibility for violation of the rules of the court session and lawyer ethics.
