Politician Alexei Navalny, who on Monday, December 25, the CEC refused to register in the presidential elections, announced a strike of voters. He urged his supporters to join the boycott of the presidential elections of 2018. The corresponding appeal is published in the blog policy, notes DW.
"We are announcing a strike of voters. The procedure in which we are invited to participate is not an election. It involves only Putin and those candidates whom he personally chose, who do not pose the slightest threat to him, "said Navalny. "Vladimir Putin is terribly frightened, afraid of competing with me, sees in it a threat, and in full accordance with what he said earlier, instructed his servants from the Central Election Campaign to refuse me registration," the oppositionist said..
He pointed out, from now on all his electoral headquarters have become strike headquarters. Staff activists will monitor the appearance of voters, as well as agitate against the upcoming elections. In the end, the oppositionist demanded not to recognize the results of the vote and the power to be elected in the elections.
CEC refused to register Navalny as a candidate for presidential elections because of outstanding conviction under a heavy article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Twelve members of the CEC voted for this, one abstained because of a "conflict of interests".
