Thus, transport moved from the province of Sabaragamuwa to the city of Colombo with 50 passengers in the cabin. The driver failed to manage at one of the turns of the road and the bus fell into the water. As a result of the incident, two people were killed, another 44 were seriously injured, including a bus driver. Victims of the accident were taken to the nearest hospitals. Law enforcers establish all circumstances of the incident.

Previously a similar case occurred in India. There, as a result of the fall of the passenger bus into the river, 32 people died, another 10 were injured of varying severity. An unknown number of people remain missing, search operations continue.
