Ukrainian border guards have already equipped all points of passes on the border with Russia with a biometric control system. The project will start on January 1, 2018. Means for reading information from biometric documents and readers for recognition of fingerprints are equipped with 157 active border points. 126 of them are connected to Interpol databases. Also, all necessary to equip the capital's international airports. This was reported by the head of the State Border Service of Ukraine Petr Tsigikal. At the same time, from January 1, Ukraine will not be able to introduce biometric control on the entire border. Some checkpoints did not have time to re-equip. As the border guards explained, this was due to the scale of the new project and the complexity of its smooth implementation. For the operation of all measures, 532 million hryvnias are needed, and only 300.
